2-axle bogie designed for intermodal freight wagons with 20.5 t axle load, a maximum operating speed of 120 km/h and a wheelbase of 2,000 mm. The design, known as the ASB® – Advanced Suspension Bogie, combines a structurally optimised design with hydraulic damping. This combination enables it to be classified in Suspension Band 6, thereby providing suitable running characteristics for operation on railway lines in the United Kingdom. Both the bogie frame and its interface with the wagon underframe are compatible with the Y33 bogie, enabling interchangeability and simpler integration into existing wagon designs. The bogie was developed primarily with regard to the specific conditions of rail transport in Great Britain, whilst its design allows for adaptation and subsequent use on European railways as well.
